Louis and Toesie Slabbert farm in the Aberdeen district. He is a
6th generation Angora farmer managing a mixed farming
operation - including some 7 000 goats - on 13 400 hectare of
land at the foot of the Camdeboo mountains. Louis also has
specific views on Camdeboo…”I feel Camdeboo is following the
right road of quality and bringing about increased stability in
the mohair market.”

TEERPUTS
Paul and Dianne Broeksma
and children – Lauren, Donnaé and Mathew – live on Teerputs – an
11 000 hectare farm - on the plains of the Camdeboo. Paul who
manages some 2 200 Angoras says that he believes in adding value
through exclusive mohair quality and that he would like to see a
more stable mohair market. Paul’s father, Hennie (who passed
away in 1990) bought the farm in 1949. Paul took over farming
operations in 1991 and soon after, won international acclaim
with exceptional mohair quality levels. |
