Weeber Truter
TRUTERSDAL
Weeber Truter has a keen eye for quality. Perhaps the fact that
he obtained Springbok colours as a shot has something to do with
his eye for quality mohair. He has a mixed farming operation and
he certainly produces some of the finest mohair in the
Oudtshoorn district. He is a 2nd generation goat
farmer and together with his wife, Tina and three children they
tend approximately 2 500 goats on almost 2 000 hectare. Average
rainfall for the area is 15 inches per year and his main aim is
to maintain and improve on the fineness, style and quality of
his clip.

Stephen Keyser
HEIMERSRIVER
As a 5th generation farmer Stephen Keyser has a passion for his
animals. To him “quality mohair comes first”. Together with his
son – also Stephen – they manage more than 2 000 Angora goats on
3 000 hectares of land in the Oudtshoorn district producing
prime Camdeboo quality hair. With a mixed farming operation,
rainfall on his farm averages 300 mm per year. “Stephen and his
wife Lana also have two daughters. In his free time he loves
restoring vintage John Deere tractors – he owns several, but the
1955 model is his favourite.

Martin Truter and son Hein
DIE WIEG
Martin Truter and his son Hein – one of four sons - manage some
4 800 Angora goats in a mixed farming operation on some 7 500
hectares of land in the Oudtshoorn district. Martin believes in
quality; “We want a quality brand in the international market
and the region of mohair production must be known. We are
committed to produce the best quality mohair in the world and we
must work towards stability in price and volumes”. Annual
rainfall in his area is some 225 mm. His wife Riana supports
Martin’s drive for quality – quality recognised by
internationally acclaimed Myuki-Keori.
